ROXBURY, NJ - A Succasunna woman is trying to raise money to help a neighbor pay for the cremation of his wife who recently died.
The online GoFundMe site, launched Sept. 22 by Holly Campbell, seeks to raise $5,000 to be donated to Mike Kelsey. According to the fundraiser, Kelsey's wife, Kathleen, died earlier this week. She was 55 and died suddenly, leaving behind her husband and son, Jimmy, a former Roxbury High School football player.
"Kathy loved the Cowboys, gardening and bears," wrote Campbell on the GoFundMe page, which had raised almost $2,300 by Saturday morning. "Kathy loved all her dogs over the years: Coco, Scooter and Buddy."
Campbell, who could not be reached immediately for comment, said the fundraiser is necessary because the Kelseys had come upon tough times due to medical expenses.
"Kathy and Mike have had health issues over the years and it has taken a toll on them financially," wrote Campbell. "Mike is not a social media guy and wouldn't know how to ask for help. He doesn't have the money to cremate his wife and hopefully we can help him put his wife to rest."

"We are kindly asking the Roxbury community and anyone else who can help a family in need," wrote Campbell.
