July 23, 2014 at 1:10 PM

BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The Board of Education announced Tuesday that the district’s newly appointed superintendent, Dr. Victor Hayek, will begin in the district as of Aug. 1.

The superintendent search was a long, extensive process with interviews for the position starting in September 2013, and beginning anew earlier this year after the first search did not end in a hire.

Hayek is coming from the position of superintendent at Pequannock Township. He was hired June 24 to serve as superintendent in the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District.
