LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Livingston High School girls’ varsity basketball team will have a new coach this year with Dave Cohen taking over the reins from Patty Kaes who finished out her final 2013-2014 season with a record of 12-12.
Coaching in Livingston is not new to Cohen, who has coached the boys’ basketball team for the past seven seasons; was the girls’ basketball team’s coach for five seasons earlier in his career; and has been the head coach of the girls’ lacrosse team for the past six seasons. In addition, he has also coached the Cedar Grove girls’ basketball team for three seasons.
According to Livingston’s Director of Athletics Pat Genova, “Coach Cohen was the obvious choice to take over the girls’ basketball program. He is respected by everyone who has the opportunity to see him coach and he teaches here in our building. That is an extremely important component and we feel fortunate to have him directing the girls’ basketball program.”
While five seniors from the 2013-14 squad graduated under Kaes, the team still boasts leading scorer Sarosha Parsons for her senior season in 2014-15.
