CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Starting Wednesday, a Covid-19 vaccination site will operate at the Coral Square Mall in Coral Springs for those 65 and older.

Run by the Florida Department of Health, the site will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, by appointment only, at the mall at 9469 W. Atlantic Boulevard (entry must be made from outside the mall at Unit 9223B), the city of Coral Springs announced on Monday.

The site will be for people to walk-up, not drive up, officials said.

It’s the latest vaccination site to open in Broward County. See our list of other locations here.

“The rapid distribution of the vaccine not only allows us to protect those most susceptible to the worst of the virus, but it also puts us on a path to ending this global pandemic,” said Coral Springs City Manager Frank Babinec in a statement. “At the conclusion of the first week of this site opening, we will have an additional 2,000 vaccines in the arms of senior citizens, that is something I am proud we can help facilitate.”

To make an appointment, visit the Florida Department of Health website:  www.browardcovidvaccine.com

However, despite being open, appointments will not be available through the website for the new Coral Springs site until health department officials work through their current backlog, which is about 40,000 people, according to Coral Springs.

Appointments for the second dose of the vaccine will be provided at the conclusion of the initial vaccination appointment. It will include the location and time to return.

City officials said only people who arrive for their confirmed scheduled vaccination time will be allowed entry into the site. There will be no gathering.
