New Head Football Coach for Bishop Ahr

May 23, 2014 at 4:00 AM

EDISON, NJ – Joe Vigilante will assume the role as the new head coach for the Bishop Ahr Trojans.

Joe Vigilante is no stranger to Bishop Ahr. He currently teaches Religion and Financial Literacy and serves as the Junior Class moderator. His familiarity with Bishop Ahr goes even further back. He graduated from Bishop Ahr in 1998 and played football while a student.

Vigilante replaces Don Sofilkanich, who served as head coach for the last three years and ended last season with a record of 3-7. Sofikanich took the head coaching job at New Brunswick High School recently.

However, last season was one of the toughest that Bishop Ahr faced.  All four losses were to NJSIAA playoff qualifiers and some of the losses were just by one point.

Bishop Ahr has a proud history on the football field as a dominant non-public school program. They have over 20 NJSIAA playoff appearances, but have not reached a sectional final since 1989.

Next season looks promising for the Bishop Ahr Trojans.

Falling by Jane Green (Berkley, 2016)

Every now and again I just love a mindless romance novel, and I've been a huge fan of Jane Green's since her first book, Jemima J: A Novel About Ugly Ducklings and Swans. Despite being classified as “chick lit,” the character and plot of Jemima J. has stayed with me for sixteen years after first reading it because the story ...
