TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy released the latest COVID-19 figures from around the New Jersey on Friday
It was the seventh straight day with over 1,000 new cases, recording 1,994, announced the governor, with eight new deaths. It was the highest one day total since May, according to Murphy. Statewide, there are 227,339 positive cases and 14,492 deaths, and 1,789 probable COVID-19 fatalities.
"We haven't seen daily case numbers this high since May", said Murphy. "We're still in the midst of a pandemic and need everyone to take this seriously. Wear a mask. Social distance", he said.
According to Murphy, Bergen County has 24,408 positive cases, and followed by Essex (23,609), and Hudson (22,432), with 512 under investigation.
Essex County still has the most new cases with 371, followed by Hudson (197), Bergen (151), Camden (128), and Burlington (88.)
