New Providence Baseball Outlasts Johnson, 5-4

CLARK, NJ – Jordan Morang and Matt McCann each had two RBIs to lead the New Providence baseball team past Arthur L. Johnson, 5-4, on Saturday.

The Pioneers scored all of their runs over the course of the first three innings with Morang, McCann and Bryan Sherman providing all of the scoring offense.

New Providence starter Alex Sherma was too much for the Crusaders to handle. Sherma pitched into the seventh inning, allowing two runs in the second then two more in the seventh.

Aside from going 3-for-3 with a double and a triple, Sherman recorded the game’s final out to record the save.

Marc Giacolone scored two runs in the game for the Pioneers.
