New Providence Board of Education Meeting Rescheduled

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The Board of Education regular meeting scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 2, has been postponed due to the forecast of heavy snow.

In anticipation of overnight snowfall that could drop 4 to 8 inches on the borough, the Board of Education has rescheduled its meeting for Monday, Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. in the New Providence High/Middle School media center at 35 Pioneer Drive.

Although no announcement has been made yet, there remains a likelihood that borough schools will either be closed, or subject to delayed openings, on Friday, when, in addition to significant snowfall, temperatures are forecast to drop close to zero degrees--levels not experienced in this area in several years.
