NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – Three Republicans will run unopposed in next week’s general election for seats on the Borough Council.
Council President Michael Gennaro has been a member of the Borough Council since 2007 and currently serves as the chairman of the finance, engineering and administration committees as well as co-chairman of the shared services committee. He is a senior vice-president at Hatch Mott MacDonald, a multi-state engineering firm.
Seeking a second term in office, Robert Munoz was born and raised in Texas, graduated from Boston College with a degree in accounting and attended Seton Hall University School of Law. He’s been a borough resident since 2002 and manages his own law practice in Clark.
In March of this year, Jim Madden was appointed to complete the first year of a vacancy created by the resignation of Alan Lesnewich who was appointed to the State Superior Court. By state law, Madden is required to seek election for the second (2013) and third (2014) years of the unexpired term.
A 23-year resident of the borough, Madden serves on the community activities administration, public works and capital improvement committee.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
