New Providence Fireworks Slated for Thursday, July 3


NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The borough will get an early jump on the Independence Day weekend with its annual fireworks display on Thursday night, July 3.

Investors Bank will sponsor the fireworks display set to begin at 9:30 p.m. There will be plenty of activities leading up to the light show, however.

The 2014 Independence Day celebration will be held on South Street and will include music from DJ John Souren of Club Souren on top of the NP Fuel “Jets” Truck and entertainment by juggler Will Shaw. Kapuscinski Luongo Architects and Martial Arts for Life will again sponsor the “Chalk on South Street,” where kids of all ages receive a free “bucket” of chalk to create art and messages on the street. 
South Street will close at 7 p.m. from Gales Drive to Springfield Avenue. The Independence Day celebration event is brought to borough residents by the New Providence Business Community.
