Short Hills luxury home Builder Cliff Geissler of Geiss Custom Builders accepted the 2014 Awards of Excellence for his entry, “Peace of Mind, A Priceless Addition” from Dominick L. Paragano, president of the Metropolitan Builders & Contractors Association of New Jersey (formerly known as the Community Builders & Remodelers Association of NJ) at the organization's awards dinner on June 12. The annual event, which honors top professionals in the building and real estate industries, was held at the Sheraton Parsippany Hotel. This is the fourth win for Mr. Geissler, and the third consecutive year Mr. Geissler has won since 2012.
This year’s winning entry was a total renovation project in New Providence, where Geiss Custom Builders transformed an ordinary Cape Cod style dwelling into a custom built luxury home, featuring a totally reconstructed fireplace with a 150 year old mantle created from reclaimed wood, as well as a generator, adding to the security and comfort for the residents.
The addition included a larger dining room and kitchen, open archways to create space on the first floor and a full three piece bathroom. Two stairways were constructed, one front and one in the back of the house, which allow easy access to a newly expanded second floor and provide privacy for visiting extended family and guests.
An added bonus is an over sized garage, with plenty of room for two vehicles, a snow blower and garden equipment. By relocating the washer and dryer to the second floor, the homeowners have additional space in the refinished basement.
Creature comforts and plenty of charm can be found throughout the home which also boasts a gas fireplace in the master bedroom, and two zone heating and cooling.
The owners are thrilled to now have a have a home where family and friends look forward to visiting and staying over, even if the power goes out.
