New Providence Ranks 15th in Rent.com Nationwide List for Renters Raising Families

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - New Providence is one of eight New Jersey municipalities to make Rent.com’s list of Top 25 Cities for Renters Raising Families.

The list ranks communities with a high concentration of family households (greater than 70 percent), population greater than 10,000 and a median household income of $50,000 or more. Family-friendly criteria considered in the ranking included affordable rental rates (based on Rent.com data), low crime rates and high school scores. Only cities/towns with more than 1,000 rental dwellings available made the list.

New Providence is ranked 15th on the nationwide list.

Rent.com assembled the Top 25 Cities for Renters Raising Families list with the help New York-based data and technology company Onboard Informatics ©2014. All demographic data provided by Onboard Informatics is deemed reliable but not guaranteed, according to the company.

Cities with high weather risk, such as risk of tornadoes or hurricanes, and a crime risk greater than the national average were eliminated from the ranking. In addition, the average Public School Test Score Copyright © 2014 GreatSchools.net rating for each city was calculated based on the test score performance of each school and based on a scale of 1-10.
