New Providence Recreation/TryCAN will offer two classes this spring in New Providence for children with special needs.
Beginning April 21,TryCAN Soccer will be held on Tuesdays from 4 to 4:45 p.m. for kids ages 6 to 10. U.K. Elite trainers will lead drills and games to help kids improve their skills while having lots of fun. Mentors will be matched with kids as available. The program will be held at Lincoln Field on Elkwood Avenue in New Providence. The cost is $45.
For kids ages 6-9 who have more of an artistic flair, TryCAN Crafty Kids will be held on six Tuesdays beginning April 22 from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. in the Municipal Center Art room. Experienced Recreation instructor Kris Serpico and mentors will help the kids with projects at a pace that is right for them. The cost is $50.
Registration is open and may be completed online by visiting the Recreation website at www.newprov.org/recreation and selecting the Online Registration link, then New Providence Recreation and 2013-2014 Special Needs and Mentoring. Registration forms to complete and mail are also available on the Recreation website.
TryCAN is a collaboration of several communities offering an array of recreation programs for youth with special needs or those who require accommodation. There are no non-resident fees, and all are welcome.
