NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The kickoff of the New Providence summer concert series offered food, fun and a musical performance for all who attended.
The first concert held on Thursday evening in Centennial Park featured the 1910 Fruitgum Company. The evening began with face-painting and magician Simon Mandal to entertain the children, followed by the concert. Members of the New Providence Business community were on hand to grill hot dogs donated by the Prestige Diner and distribute ice cream donated by Zita’s Homemande Ice Cream.
“It’s really great to see the community come out and enjoy themselves,” said Al Elefante, concert organizer. “We really wanted to have an evening that the whole family could enjoy together. We are lucky to have such a generous and involved business community that makes these events possible, and hope that, in return, residents will support their local businesses. We hope everyone will join us on July 17, July 24, and Aug. 5 for the remaining concerts.”
The summer concerts are made possible by the support of local business sponsors Berkeley Aquatic Club; Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices; Braunschweiger Jewelers; Creative Wall Coverings & Interiors; The Downtown Improvement District; Elefante Music; Lassus Wherley; Lions Club International; Prestige Diner; Pure Pilates; Dr. Bob Robinson, DDS; STH Printing; and Zita’s Homemade Ice Cream.
