CORAL SPRINGS, FL  – Children in Coral Springs will soon have a new place for water play.

The city announced this week that a new splash pad will be built at Betti Stradling Park at 10301 Wiles Road by the summer.

Rob Hunter, the city’s parks and recreation director, said at a Thursday meeting that the splash pad will be built just south of Princess Meadow's Playground in the spot where the fitness equipment is currently located. (The equipment will be moved to another place in the park.)

The 6,000 square-foot pad will include a smaller water slide and dump bucket, he said.

There will also be places for shade and benches to sit on.

The project is expected to be done by June, he said.

Hunter didn’t provide the cost of the project.
