New Summer Camp Program at Skylands Ice World

HARDYSTON, NJ- Skylands Ice World summer camp has a new Camp Director Melanie Stoltenborg.  Stoltenborg announces an entirely new camp experience; a new daily schedule and staffing changes.  Stoltenborg is part of the local ambulance corps and she is also an aide at the Vernon Schools. The new camp director and staff are committed to creating a comfortable camp environment for children ages four to 13.

"Camp is a place to make new friends and enjoy time off from school. We want our campers to have the best experience we can give them - a summer they will remember," says Stoltenborg.  "We have lots of exciting new programming and staff this summer and look forward to seeing you and your camper here."

Building on the existing program, Skylands summer camp will include various field trips and activities to give the campers something exciting and new each and every day. There will be arts and crafts, science experiments, theater performances, kickboxing, circus parades, ice cream parties, and field day and other special events.

There is a scheduled visit from a  New Jersey State Police helicopter.  The Hardyston Fire Department is also scheduled to come to camp and do a fire truck wet down event with the campers.

Each day will include skate time on the ice rink.  There will be the opportunity to have skating lessons as well. Much of the day will be spent outside on the grassy area next to the facility with games and activities. There are many additional options for indoor experiences as well, on inclement weather days.   A more comprehensive listing of activities is available on the Skylands website.

A morning snack and full lunch are included in the camp tuition.  Each week parents will be able to see the  lunch menu on the website. Nearly every Wednesday there will be field trips to various places where a bag lunch will be required.

Camp programs are available on a weekly basis of three, four or five days, running from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Early drop off is available.    There is discount pricing  available for different packages and siblings rates as well.

"With our dedicated staff and new program, I am sure the campers will have a summer that they will always remember," says Josh Mac Donald, new General Manager of Skylands Ice World.
