LIVINGSTON, NJ - After coming off a Tuesday victory over Montclair Kimberley two days earlier, the Livingston girls basketball team fell to Newark Academy, 68-63, on Thursday.
Newark Academy started out with a strong first quarter, leading Livingston, 24-11, and maintained a lead throughout the game.
Newark Academy’s Jocelyn Willoughby was the game’s leading scorer with 36 points. Her teammates Hernell Gabriel and Taylor Smith each had 10 points, Rachel Neiman had seven, Karina Mehta had four and Isabelle Catabran had one point.
For Livingston, Sam Rothenberger had 17 points, followed by Nicole LaRusso with 15, Sarosha Parsons with 11, Catherine Callaghan and Katie Horiuchi with four each and Emily Waldenberg with two.
Next, Livingston (4-3-0) will play Cedar Grove (6-4-0), in an away game, on Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 4 p.m.
