NEWARK, NJ - Tonight’s city council meeting has been rescheduled as snowy conditions move through the area.

The meeting is rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 22,  at 12:30 p.m., the deputy city clerk said. City council was slated to vote on key issues, including several ordinances on first reading related to short term residential rentals.

A lease agreement between the city and the parking authority was also on the agenda for second reading. While an ordinance for new salary ranges is also on the agenda, a public hearing for it is scheduled for Feb. 26.

Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency Tuesday night ahead of today's storm. About three inches of snow is expected in areas across the state.
