Newton - Controlled Dangerous Substance Arrest

On May 5, 2013 at 8:58p.m., Special Officer Don Donofrio observed a male identified as Patrick Williams, age 54, of Wantage, NJ walking on Spring Street and requested a warrant check on him. Subsequently, it was learned that there were active warrants from Andover Municipal Court in the amount of $986 and Green Township Municipal Court in the amount of $750. Upon the warrants being validated, Patrick was taken into custody by Ptl. Daniel Finkle.

A search incident to arrest revealed that Williams was found to be in possession of 11 packets (wax paper folds) of suspected heroin and 1 used fold with suspected heroin residue. As a result, he was charged with the following offense:
N.J.S. 2C:35-10a(1).  Possession, Use or Being under the Influence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance  3rd Degree. 
He was processed after being given a new court date by both Andover and Green Township Municipal Courts and released on his own recognizance.  Case pending a May 14, 2013 appearance in Newton Municipal Court.
