You must pre-order the bread on the NFAS website - - and pickup is only on Tuesday, March 16th between 4pm - 6pm at the squad building on Sussex Street.  Contact less pickup is available however the community is welcome to enter the squad building while wearing a face mask.

"When Brandon pitched me the idea, I immediately thought it would be a success!  Our community was extremely disappointed when the news broke about the St Patrick's Day Parade being canceled for the second year due to the COVID-19 restrictions.  We want to remind the community that we are just as anxious to get back to some sort of normalcy while still being safe" states Kimberly Williams, Community Development Director for the Town of Newton. "We may not be permitted to gather for parades just yet, but we can still celebrate what means the most to us in a fun, safe manner!" states Williams.

"We will evaluate the sales and procedures and make adjustments for next year" states 1st Lieutenant Brandon Posey. "We don't want this to be just another fundraiser.  We want this to develop into something fun for the community to look forward to.  We hope they get excited about the bread sale and remember it for next year!"

With the COVID-19 restrictions, most fundraising events have been canceled for nonprofits. "It has been a struggle for all nonprofits across the nation - we aren't unique.  But we are willing to adapt and go the extra mile." states Williams.

Williams wants the community to remember that the Town of Newton is "the County Seat - it is where people shop for groceries and go to the doctors.  We have the DMV agencies, Social Services and the College.  This team is very active and could use your support."

Donations are also accepted on the website and the deadline to order bread is Friday, March 12th.
