NEWTON, NJ—The Newton High School girls basketball team won 42-35 over High Point when they played them away on Monday.

Kaitlyn Lynch and Jade Luciani each contributed nine points. Luciani was strong on defense with 12 rebounds and two steals throughout the game. Lynch had four rebounds, one assist and one block.

Maddie Gore added eight points. Olivia Buckley put up five. Davisann Boyd and Madison Leonardo each had four and Emily Pappas got one.

The Braves made a total of 12 2-pointers, two 3-pointers, and 10 foul shots throughout the game. By taking this game as a win, the girls moved their record to 8-1 overall and 5-0 in their conference-division.

The Newton High School girls basketball team will host Morristown on Thursday, January 17, with the game beginning at 7 p.m.
