The Newton Medical Center Foundation is once again offering scholarship opportunities to students who are interested in becoming registered nurses.
In return, students who receive the scholarships must work at Newton Medical Center for their first two years on a full-time basis or for three years on a part-time basis, after graduation.
Scholarship opportunities are available to students from Sussex County Community College, Morris County Community College, Bergen County Community College and Warren County Community College.
Students interested in the Foundation scholarship opportunities can download the application package at www.atlantichealth.org/nmcfoundation and click on “Scholarships.” All applications must be submitted no later than February 28, 2014.
The scholarship program began in 2005 as a joint effort by the foundation and Sussex County Community College in response to a nationwide nursing shortage. In that time, the foundation has donated $450,000 to the college’s nursing program. The program has grown rapidly since 2001, resulting in the opening of a new Health Sciences building and the hiring of additional faculty.
If you have questions regarding the application package, please call the Newton Medical Center Foundation office at 973-579-8309.
