Newton Medical Center’s Health & Wellness Sites Collecting Food for Local Pantries

SPARTA, NJ- As part of Newton Medical Center’s efforts to empower the communities they serve to be the healthiest in the nation, the hospital is holding a food drive at its Health & Wellness facilities in Sparta and Vernon in New Jersey and Milford, Pa.

An estimated one in six Americans goes hungry every day, and food pantries are often the source of nourishment for many throughout the year.

Donations of non-perishable food items will be donated to food pantries in the communities served by the Health & Wellness sites: the First Presbyterian Church of Sparta Food Pantry; the Vernon Area Sussex Help Center Food Pantry; and Milford Ecumenical Food Pantry.

Please drop off any donations of non-perishable food at any of the following three sites between now and July 4:

Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Newton Man’s Arrest

NEWTON, NJ-- A Newton man faces drug charges after being pulled over  for driving while talking on his cell phone.  Newton Special Officer Raul Couce stopped Bryan Johnson on November 10 at 7:53 p.m.
