EAST ORANGE, NJ - NFL standout Rasul Douglas, a cornerback with the Philadelphia Eagles came back home to East Orange Friday (August 24, 2018) to host an event he is calling a ‘Community Giveback’ event. The event was held at Firehouse #2 at 60 Main Street in East Orange. There was music, games, free food and school supply giveaways for young students. 

The event had a large turnout of young students. Also in attendance were many of the parents and guardians, politicians and well-wishers; all joining Rasul in encouraging the students to do well in the upcoming school year.

Rasul attended East Orange Campus High School and was a graduate of Cicely L. Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Arts. He was drafted by the Eagles in the third round (99th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft following a two-year collegiate career at West Virginia. Douglas, who tied for the NCAA lead with eight INTs as a senior in 2016, registered 78 tackles (55 solo), nine INTs, and two FFs in 24 games with the Mountaineers.
