ROCKAWAY, NJ – The New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs (NJSFWC) of the General Federation of Women's Clubs announced the winners of the NJSFWC Annual Highlands District Spelling Bee on Feb. 2:

First Place -- Sanjana Veggalam from Woman’s Club of Parsippany-Troy Hills

Second Place -- Lucas Zablocki from the Woman’s Club of the Denville-Rockaway Area

Third Place -- Sahaj Bhandari from the Woman’s Club of Parsippany-Troy Hills

Denville Mayor Tom Andes, Denville Library Director Siobhan Koch and NJSFWC Highlands District Vice President Judy Filippini served as judges for the district spelling bee. Members of three women's clubs -- Denville-Rockaway Area, Parsippany Troy-Hills and Vernon -- helped to organize and support the event.

Veggalam, Zablock and Bhandari will advance to compete in the NJSFWC Annual State Spelling Bee, on Saturday, March 2, at NJSFWC headquarters located on the Douglass campus of Rutgers University–New Brunswick.
