MADISON, NJ – The top-seeded Madison High School ice hockey team advanced to the Halvorsen Cup final after shutting out 4-seed Kinnelon/Sparta/Jefferson; 4-0. in Monday night’s semifinal at Mennen Arena.

The Dodgers will meet third-seeded Roxbury, a winner in the other semifinal after Mendham was forced to drop out of the tournament due to COVID-19. Madison defeated Kinnelon/Sparta/Jefferson for the third time this season, and the second time in a shutout.

The Dodgers put a remarkable 54 shots on goal to KSJ’s 14.

Tyler Shannon scored two goals for Madison. Matt Gero, Johnny Hamwee, Luke Wirth and Kyle Piechnik all scored, and Jacoby Erickson and Michael Scheier had three assists apiece. Andrew Cimino had two assists for Madison.

The Dodgers will now shift their attention towards going undefeated in Halvorsen play this season. They will look to defeat Roxbury for the third time this season in Thursday
night’s Halvorsen Cup final.
