On June 18, during the Homefirst’s annual Kids Club Carnival, Diane Senerchia, Executive Director of the Northfield Bank Foundation presented Homefirst with a generous grant of $20,000. The Northfield Bank Foundation has been a consistent leadership donor to Homefirst. Since 2008, they have given a total of $100,000 in support of Homefirst's housing and support programs.
Angie Tsirkas, Vice President of Business Development and Maria Fuentes, Assistant Vice President Branch Manager for Northfield Bank in Westfield were also in attendance as the children and their families celebrated the completion of another successful school year and the arrival of summer.
Ellen McGovern, Homefirst Executive Director commented, "Northfield Bank has been a true partner in our work. Their philanthropic spirit and commitment to supporting the Homefirst homes in Westfield and our newest homes in Linden is exceptional."
The mission of the Northfield Bank Foundation is to promote charitable purposes within the communities in which Northfield Bank operates - Staten Island, Brooklyn and Middlesex and Union Counties in New Jersey. The Foundation focuses its efforts on projects to support education, health and human services, youth programs, affordable housing and other types of community organizations or civic-minded projects that improve the quality of life around us. Since it's inception in 2007 the Foundation has awarded $4 million in grants.
