EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ - Mayor Brad Cohen has issued the following statement with regard to the fatal accident that occurred at Crystal Springs Family Aquatic Center in East Brunswick on Monday, July 30, 2018:
"It is with the deepest regret that I must report the passing of the young boy who was involved in the swimming accident a little over a week ago at Crystal Springs Water Park, East Brunswick. I share the sentiments of the entire community in offering our prayers and condolences to the family as they enter this very difficult time."
No further information is available from the Mayor's Office or the the East Brunswick Police Department at this time.
At approximately 3:35 pm on Monday, July 30, patrol units responded to Crystal Springs Family Aquatic Center on Dunham's Corner Road for a report of a child not breathing, according to a report issued by the East Brunswick Police Department.
Officers, along with facility personnel and EMS, performed CPR on the child, who was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
