Nutley High School Student Suffers Knife Wounds, Suspect Identified as 2020 NHS Graduate

NUTLEY, NJ - The Nutley Police Department confirmed that a Nutley High School student suffered knife wounds during an altercation in the township Tuesday night.

Social media was abuzz Tuesday night and Wednesday morning with news of the incident. According to police scanner reports, the incident took place in the vicinity of Mount Vernon St. and Woodcrest Ln. about 10 p.m. The suspect in the case fled the scene in what was reported to be a white Mazda SUV. 

The victim is a Nutley High School student, and given his age, will not be identified. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers of the Nutley Police Department Detective Bureau identified the suspect as 18-year-old 2020 graduate of Nutley High School, Antonio Lampon. He was charged with aggravated assaults and weapons possession.
