NUTLEY, NJ - The Nutley Police Department reports that lawn signs in the township were vandalized in the overnight hours between June 26 and June 27, 2020. 

According to police, two lawn signs, one reading #NutleyForBlackLives and the other reading "Silence is Violence #NutleyForBlackLives" were discovered to have been spray painted on June 27. The resident believes the incident took place the night before. 

According to the resident, the signs were on the lawn for about three weeks. As a part of the investigation, officers contacted residents in the area for video footage in search of any suspicious activity.

The evening shift of the Nutley Police Department will make checks on the residence as a part of their patrols.
