STAFFORD — The Ocean County Chapter of The Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh regret to announce that the 2020 Ocean County Irish Festival which was to be held on September 12, 2020 at Manahawkin Lake Park has been canceled.

We do this out of concern for our community as we are still in the midst of this global pandemic.  We always hope to offer a family friendly and safe environment for our community to share the Irish culture but with the present viral outbreak we believe it is prudent to cancel this year’s event and start planning how we can come back next year with a Festival that will show both the true Irish spirit as well as the spirit of Ocean County.

We wish to thank all of our sponsors and the many vendors who have continued to support us over the many years of this event and we look forward to that continued support for many years to come.  We will, however, still have our 50/50 raffle and drawing on September 12th.  First prize is 25% of the tickets sold, second prize is 15% of the tickets sold and third prize is 10% of tickets sold.

You can buy tickets from any Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh member or email us at  We wish to thank the Ocean County community and Stafford Township in particular for the support they have showed our Festival over the last few years and we hope to see you all out at Manahawkin Lake Park in 2021 on September 11 to celebrate the Irish culture.  Until then stay safe and as the old Irish blessing says “May good fortune be yours, and may your joys never end.”
