SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health on Sunday reported an additional 73 positive tests for the COVID-19 virus over the past 48 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 5,820, with 518 COVID-10 deaths reported since March 8.

Hillsborough has had a total of 581 COVID-19 cases since March, with a total of 81 COVID-19 related deaths.

In New Jersey, the state Department of Health Sunday reported a total of 228,468 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 235 days ago, an increase of 1.129 overnight.  There was an increase of 4 deaths overnight, bringing the state total to 14.496. There have been 4,385,882 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.

The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is now 43,277,341 including 1,157,924 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Sunday morning, with 8,833,003 cases in the United States and 230,477 deaths.

The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 160 Franklin Township residents; 81 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 75 in Bridgewater; 42 in Bernards Township; 37 in North Plainfield; 32 in Green Brook; 14 in Watchung; 15 in Raritan; 13 in Bound Brook; 16 in Warren; 6 in Manville; 6 in Somerville; 6 in Montgomery; 6 in Branchburg; 4 in Bedminster; 3 in Bernardsville; 3 in South Bound Brook and one in Peapack-Gladstone.

No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.
