SOMERVILLE, NJ - The Somerset County Department of Health on Monday reported an additional 42 positive tests for the COVID-19 virus overnight, bringing the total number of cases to 5,862, with 518 COVID-10 deaths reported since March 8.
Hillsborough has had a total of 590 COVID-19 cases since March, with a total of 81 COVID-19 related deaths.
In New Jersey, the state Department of Health Monday reported a total of 229,684 positive cases of the coronavirus since the pandemic began its spread in the state 236 days ago, an increase of 1.216 overnight. There was an increase of 7 deaths overnight, bringing the state total to 14.503. There have been 4,455,234 COVID-19 tests administered in New Jersey.
The number of COVID-19 cases worldwide is now 43,594,932 including 1,161,974 deaths, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on Monday morning, with 8,906,154 cases in the United States and 230,609 deaths.
The SCDOH has confirmed the deaths of 160 Franklin Township residents; 81 in Hillsborough/Millstone; 75 in Bridgewater; 42 in Bernards Township; 37 in North Plainfield; 32 in Green Brook; 14 in Watchung; 15 in Raritan; 13 in Bound Brook; 16 in Warren; 6 in Manville; 6 in Somerville; 6 in Montgomery; 6 in Branchburg; 4 in Bedminster; 3 in Bernardsville; 3 in South Bound Brook and one in Peapack-Gladstone.
No COVID-19 deaths have been reported in Far Hills, Millstone or Rocky Hill.
