SOMERVILLE, NJ - Give or take a few pints, Pat Mannion estimates he and his bartenders over the past 20 years have drawn over 350,000 frothy pints of Guinness for their customers.
That number is sure to climb, just as sure as there are rainbows in the skies over the Emerald Isle, when Mannion's Pub and Restaurant, 150 West Main St., celebrates is 20th anniversary on Saturday, Nov. 2nd with a full-tilt Irish party, including live music, Irish step dancers, bagpipes, contests and giveaways.
The celebration officially begins at 7 p.m., but Mannion expects a crowd will begin to build early in the day.
Certain to be the number one crowd-pleaser will be the picture-perfect Guinness "The STOUTie promotion, which began recently at the Guinness Brewery in Dublin.
“The iconic creamy head of Guinness is the perfect canvas for The STOUTie,” says Stephen Kilcullen, Head of Quality and Master Brewer in Dublin.
The picture-perfect drink features individual selfies "floating" atop the frothy head of the beer, a specialized process that adds natural malt extract to the Guinness to create the chosen design.
Food and drink will be available all day and night. Further information is online at mannionsirishpub.com or by calling (908) 203-0700.
