The Friends of the Woods invites the public to a Nature Center Open House and guided walks at the Highland Woods Nature Reserve on Sunday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Nature Center with its many exhibits and interactive displays will be open to visitors for the first time this year. The 36-acre, borough-owned reserve is located at 115 Sylvania Place (off South Clinton Avenue) in South Plainfield.
Mayor Matthew Anesh will open the event at 11:00 a.m. with a presentation to FOW of a $500 check from the Mayor’s wedding fee fund. FOW is the non-profit organization that organizes educational programs at the reserve, and is supported by membership dues and donations.
