Organ Recitals Daily as Part of Summer Festival

Grace Church, Madison, will host organ recitals all week as part of the Baroque Orchestra’s Summer Festival.   The recitals begin at 12:15 and end at 12:45. The organ console and pedals will be projected onto the wall for better audience viewing. Local gourmet sandwich shop, Madison’s On A Roll, will provide a selection of wraps and sandwiches for $6 purchase after each concert. The concerts are free and open to the public, although a freewill donation will be available to benefit the performers.

On Monday August 5, Eric Stroud, assistant organist at Grace Church will present an All-Bach program. On Tuesday August 6, Juilliard- educated Joe Arndt from Grce Church in Newark will present a program of “Lesser-known Baroque Gems.” Wednesday August 7, Brian Harlow presents a fascinating program called  “Old & New: Bach, Handel, Milhaud.”  On Thursday August 8, John Pivarnik ‘s “Playing Bach on an Elephant” will include performances on both organ and the church’s lovely Steinway. Friday August 9, Dr. Anne Matlack presents an all- French program: “Couperin to Langlais.”

Celebrating 22 years at Grace Church this fall, Dr. Matlack is also Artistic Director of the acclaimed Harmonium Choral Society.
