SUMMIT, NJ - Acclaimed organist Colin MacKnight will perform a recital at Calvary Episcopal Church, 31 Woodland Avenue, at 7:30 p.m. February 28. Admission is free.
MacKnight is currently a third-year organ major at The Juilliard School. A recipient of the E.H. Ludlam scholarship, he is in the studio of Paul Jacobs, Grammy award winner and chair of the organ department.
In October of 2013, MacKnight was selected as the first place winner of the Rodgers North American Classical Organ Competition. In September, he was selected as the winner of the Ruth and Paul Manz Organ Scholarship. Additionally, he won second place in the American Guild of Organists’ New York City Regional Competition for Young Organists in March of 2013.
MacKnight has performed in some of America’s most renowned venues including Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall, and Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center.
