Over $2,500 in Jewelry Stolen from Westfield Home

October 30, 2013 8:21 a.m.

Timothy Schetelich, 52, of Scotch Plains responded to Westfield Police Headquarters to satisfy a bench warrant issued by the Westfield Municipal Court ($114 bail). Schetelich was processed and released after posting the requisite bail.

Kliady D. Jean, 21, of Piscataway was arrested during a traffic stop conducted on Raymond Street near Mountain Avenue on the strength of multiple warrants issued by the following municipal courts: Dunellen Boro ($750 bail); South Plainfield ($730 & $389 bail); and Piscataway ($106 bail). Jean was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters for arrest processing and placed in cell #1 in lieu of posting bail. She was subsequently turned over to the custody of South Plainfield Police Department.

November 1, 2013 8:36 a.m.

A resident from the 100 block of Lincoln Road reported unknown actor(s) entered his/her residence and removed numerous jewelry items valued at over $2,500.00. There are no suspect(s) at this time.

November 1, 2013 4:09 p.m.

Deja Knight, 30, of Jersey City was arrested on the strength of Westfield warrant #E13 008558 in the amount of $610.00 at Newark Police Department. Knight was then transported to Westfield Police Headquarters, where she was processed and later transported to Union County Jail in lieu of bail.

November 2, 2013 12:31 a.m.

Aswad Turner, 19, of Plainfield was arrested as a result of a motor vehicle stop for an outstanding $1,000.00 Westfield Criminal Warrant. Turner was remanded to the Union County Jail.

November 2, 2013 12:51 a.m.

Gerald Thompson, 49, of Westfield was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the area of Rahway Avenue near Codding Road in Westfield. Thompson was released with summons at a later time.

November 2, 2013 12:58 a.m.

Matthew Sosnowski, 18, of Westfield was arrested for possession of a firearm during a motor vehicle stop. Sosnowski posted 10 percent of a $5,000 bail cash alternative. Superior Court date set for Nov. 6 at 8:30 a.m.

November 3, 2013 12:18 p.m.

Amos Jackson III, 26, of Plainfield was arrested at Police Headquarters on a $100 Westfield Traffic Warrant. Jackson posted $100 bail and has been assigned a court date on November 14, 2013 at 9 a.m.

November 4, 2013 7:05 a.m.

A resident of Nomahegan Drive reported an attempted burglary to their home. Actor(s) attempted to pry a window to gain access to the home possibly in the late afternoon to early evening hours.

November 5, 2013 10:16 a.m.

Deborah Exontus, 36, of South Orange was arrested on a warrant out of the Westfield jurisdiction for $500. Ms. Exontus was released on her own recognizance as per court personnel.

November 6, 2013 3:59 p.m.

Denise Sabbatino, 45, of Rahway was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant out of Westfield Municipal Court ($465) pursuant to a prisoner pick-up at Rahway Police Department. Sabbatino was transferred to Headquarters, processed and placed in cell #1, in lieu of bail.

November 6, 2013 8:35 p.m.

Denisha Chandler, 21, of Roselle was arrested on an outstanding ATS warrant ($81) issued by Fanwood Municipal Court following a motor vehicle stop at W. South Avenue/Central Avenue. Chandler was transported to Headquarters, processed and released on posted bail.
