Overlook Hospital will invite middle school and high school students as well as adults considering a career in health care to a series of presentations by Overlook staff on what to expect in jobs in the medical field. The presentations, held in evenings in May, will include information about the educational requirements needed for various health care jobs. Speakers will discuss the benefits, challenges and expectations of the medical profession and will share personal accounts with the audience. Some of the presentations will also include tours of specific departments and units at Overlook Hospital.
Each of the presentations will take place from 4:15pm to 6:15pm in Conference Room 4 at the hospital. The presentations will include:
• Monday, May 3 - Infection Prevention and Nursing 101 - Featuring hospital infection control and an overview of nursing options
• Wednesday, May 5 - Surgical Services - Featuring Operating Room and Anesthesia Services
• Tuesday, May 11 - Emergency Medicine - Featuring Emergency Department and Emergency Medical Services
• Thursday, May 13 - Rehabilitation Services and Integrative Medicine - Featuring Physical Therapy and Mind/Body Medicine
