Overturned Truck Snarls Traffic on Route 287

SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – A tractor-trailer overturned coming off the entrance ramp at Exit #5 onto Route 287 earlier today. The accident was on the southbound lane of Route 287 at the South Plainfield/Piscataway border. The accident occurred about 10 a.m. There have not been any reports of injuries related to this accident.     

The accident caused southbound bumper-to-bumper traffic for hours. Road crews were working feverishly to remove the truck prior to the height of the afternoon commute. The southbound Route 287 entrance ramp off of Stelton Road was closed to all traffic.
