MILLBURN, NJ — Although performance spaces remain closed, organizations such as Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn are looking for innovative ways to connect with their audiences until they can safely open.

In a collaborative first, Paper Mill is co-producing three-part series of free, virtual performances with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO), sponsored by JCP&L/First Energy Foundation and PNC Bank.

“We are thrilled to partner with the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra,” said Mark S. Hoebee, Paper Mill Playhouse Producing Artistic Director. “And we look forward to all the discovery and beauty we believe will result from having two of New Jersey’s preeminent cultural organizations from different disciplines come together.”

The first performance will feature NJSO musicians as well as Broadway and Paper Mill veteran Rema Webb in a virtual performance of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” Webb will sing alongside the NJSO strings.

The performance will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. and can be streamed live or online any time after the event.
