Paper Mill Playhouse Wins Two 2011 People’s Choice Awards

From December 1, 2011 through January 18, 2012 invited the public to vote for their favorite nonprofit arts groups in its fourth annual People's Choice Awards. Paper Mill Playhouse was awarded, “Favorite Place at See a Musical” and “Favorite Place to Take a Class in the Arts (Kids)” earlier today.  The categories ranged from theater and performing arts center, to museum and gallery, to symphony and dance company (along with many more -- there were 14 in all). Many organizations rallied their audiences to vote and in total a record number of over 6800 people cast their ballot in this year's awards.  The Millburn Theater received more than 4,300 total votes in the competition.

The winners were announced today online at and via email to all the voters. Recipients will formally receive their awards in a ceremony at The New Jersey Tourism Conference, held March 14-16, 2012 in Atlantic City, NJ.

“Paper Mill Playhouse is both humbled and honored to receive two 2011 People’s Choice Awards,” remarked Todd Schmidt, Paper Mill Playhouse Managing Director. “These awards are a gift from the audiences and students we serve throughout the State of New Jersey.”
