PARKLAND, FL – A 49-year-old pediatrician from Parkland was arrested Tuesday on child pornography charges, Broward Sheriff’Office said.

Dr. Michael Mizrachy was booked at the Broward County Jail on two counts of possession of sexual performance by a child and one count of computer pornography, BSO said in a news release.

Mizrachy practiced in Weston and Plantation and was affiliated with Memorial Hospital West.

In June 2020, Broward Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children detectives received a tip regarding an adult male, later identified as Mizrachy, concerning the possible distribution and possession of child pornography.

After getting a search warrant, detectives found a video showing a child, between eight and 10 years of age, having sexual intercourse with an apparent adult male, according to BSO.

In addition to that video, detectives also found several photos depicting what appear to be young children in their bathing suits, underwear or shorts, in which none of the children appear to be aware the photos were being taken.

The images led detectives to get an additional search warrant in October for Mizrachy’s residence on Lakeside Drive in Parkland.

Detectives then learned that Mizrachy used an app, known as KIK, to chat with a child who was 15 at the time, according to BSO. The chats included sexually explicit photographs that were shared from the child.

According to BSO, further investigation revealed that the other images of the children located in Mizrachy’s accounts were of his daughters’ friends at his house. The images included the children’s clothed private parts. Most of the children appeared to be between the ages of 13 and 15, and the child was 10-years-old, BSO said in the news release.

BSO said the investigation is ongoing.

There was no bond set on Tuesday, according to jail records.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Mizrachy to contact Det. Erica Rockey at 954-888-1570.
