The Passaic County Health Department is offering free mental health first aid training. Join in the fight to save lives and train to become a Mental Health First Aider. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an in-person eight hour training that teaches you how to help an individual developing a mental illness or in a crisis.
Learn how to apply the MHFA action plan in a variety of situations, including anxiety, depression, addictions, and acute psychosis (e.g. hallucinations or delusions). The opportunity to practice through role plays, scenarios, and activities, makes it easier to apply these skills in a real-life situation.
The free training will be held on Wednesday, May 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 410 Mt Pleasant Ave., Woodland Park. All adults and college students are welcome.
Registration is required. Contact the Passaic County Department of Health educator Syeda Islam at 973-225-3646 or email@example.com or Public Health Nurse Sandy Cameron at 973-225-3648 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
