Passengers Assault, Rob Cab Driver Wednesday Morning

PATERSON, NJ - A cab driver was the victim of a strong-arm robbery in the city early Wednesday morning.

According to Sgt. Dean Barone, at around 2:30 a.m., the driver was transporting two passengers, a black male and a black female, and when the driver asked for the fare, an argument ensued.

The passengers grabbed the cab driver, punched him and pulled him out of the car, stealing his wallet and his cash at the corner of Main and Market streets. The victim sustained minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene.
