Paterson 16-Year-Old Stable After Being Shot Friday Morning

PATERSON, NJ - Police are investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old Paterson youth Friday morning.

The victim, who was in stable condition as of Friday morning, told police walking in the area of 17th Avenue and East 19th Street at around 2:30 a.m. when he heard numerous gunshots fired and realized he was struck in the arm. The victim fled the area on foot and was located by officers--who responded to the activation of the ShotSpotter system--a short distance from the original scene.

Detectives are searching for possible witnesses and checking for area camera footage that may assist them in their investigation.
