Trenton, NJ – The New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians (NJAFP) recently announced the election of Paterson’s Krishna Bhaskarabhatla, M.D. as President of the Board of Directors at the NJAFP’s Annual Summer Celebration and Scientific Assembly in Atlantic City.
As president of the state’s largest primary care medical society, Dr. Bhaskarabhatla serves as the chief elected officer, representing the membership and the best interests of the Academy. In addition to serving as a motivating force for other officers, board members, committee members, staff and membership, Dr. Bhaskarabhatla will influence the establishment of goals and objectives for advancing the cause of the family physician.
The Paterson resident joined the NJAFP in 2000, becoming a Board of Directors member in 2007. Dr. Bhaskarabhatla is Board certified in family medicine who has been a physician in family practice in New Jersey for almost 20 years.
He currently practices at Surya Health Center in Woodland Park with his wife, Kausalya Chennapragada, M.D.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Bhaskarabhatla serves as associate program director of the family medicine residency at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson and holds faculty appointments at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan and New York Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y.
During the annual celebration, NJAFP also announced the officers elected to its Board of Directors, including:
