PATERSON, NJ - A nearly six month investigation by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crime Against Children Task Force led to the arrest of a Paterson man who law enforcement authorities say is a repeat distributor of child pornography.

According to Sheriff Richard H. Berdnik, investigators received a tip in February that Raul O. Alarcon had distributed an image of child sexual abuse, via instant message.

Detectives executed a search warrant Thursday and arrested Alarcon, while also seizing a cellular telephone and a digital camera belonging to Alarcon that allegedly held approximately 150 additional files of child sexual abuse. Detectives will continue to examine Alarcon’s phone for additional evidence related to the investigation.
