Paterson Man Found with Gunshot Wound to Leg

PATERSON, N.J. – A 43 year old local man was the victim of a single gun shot late Tuesday night.

The unnamed victim was found by police at the intersection of North Bridge and Watson Streets in Ward 1 following a “shots fired” activation of the city’s gunshot alert system.

When police arrived, they found the man with a gunshot wound to the leg and transported him to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. He is currently in stable condition, according to a Paterson Police Department press release.

The motive for the incident is unknown as of press time with the investigation ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Francisco Brito or Detective Aramis Alba of the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit at 973-321-1342.
