PATERSON, NJ - Police are investigating the shooting in broad daylight of a 24-year-old city man Thursday morning.
According to Lt. Patrick Murray, the victim was shot in the upper right arm shortly before noon near the intersection of Presidential Blvd. and Temple Street.
"(The victim) advised responding officers that while walking in the area of Presidential Boulevard and Temple Street, he heard what he believed to be shots fired, and was struck once in the upper arm area," Murray said. "The victim then flagged a city cab, and was transported to the hospital at that time. Detectives are currently canvassing the area and reviewing area camera footage in an attempt to ascertain additional information.
The victim was treated at St. Joseph's Medical Center and later released.
